Installation of Fire Suppression System Processes.

Before you call for your fire suppression installation, please make sure that hoods and duct work are fully installed, appliances are in place, and walls are complete. You will be responsible for notifying the installer of remote pull location. Location chosen must comply with local code requirements: installer can advise.

Before you call for your fire suppression test, please verify the following:

  • Make-up air fan is connected to the fire system so it will shut down at the time of system discharge
  • Electrical power to all appliances, including those with no nozzles over them must shut down at the time of system discharge
  • Exhaust fan must remain on when system discharges or other special requirements must be met
  • Fire system must be connected to the building fire alarm and fire alarm must be capable of testing at the time of the fire test to demonstrate
  • Gas must be turned on so that the inspector can see it turn off at the time the system discharges
  • In some jurisdictions, there may be a need for a gas company representative to be present at the time of final inspections
